Acro & Aerial Classes

Albright Studios offers Acro and Aerial classes designed to help students of all ages and skill levels soar to new heights. Whether you're looking to improve your dance skills with acrobatics or explore the art of aerial silks and hoops, our professional instructors provide a safe, fun, and supportive environment for every student.

Acro

Dancers require acrobatic skills to further excel in the industry. 'Acro' incorporates flips, jumps and balancing tricks. Its high energy relies on core strength, agility, coordination, and flexibility. Our classes are structured and provide appropriate crash mat equipment and mats. This discipline broadens a dancer’s range, blending athleticism and artistry to create visually striking performances. Acrobatics cultivates physical resilience, mental focus, and a dynamic quality that elevates every aspect of a dancer’s skill set. Our acrobatics teacher is trained and registered with Acrobatic Arts.

Aerial

Perfect for students wanting to get up in the air! These classes cover both silks (tissu), and Lyra (aerial hoop) and we cover basic climbs and wraps on tissu and shapes and sequences on the aerial hoop. In our classes, you will learn to climb and invert as you gain strength and confidence. Aerial Lyra, also known as 'Aerial Hoop’, is a ring-like apparatus suspended in the air. Students will learn a variety of skills and move into inversions, poses and spins whilst suspended. Silks (tissu) are long lengths of material suspended from a point where you can climb, wrap and perform drops. Build your strength, learn tricks and poses, and then how to join them all together in a routine. Aerial silks are great for increasing your flexibility, strengthening your core and toning muscles.

Common Questions

  • Not at all! We design our classes to accommodate different experience levels. Beginners will focus on foundational strength and flexibility, while more advanced students tackle complex moves.

  • We recommend form-fitting activewear that won’t get tangled in fabrics or equipment. For aerial, you’ll want to cover the back of your knees (e.g., leggings) to protect your skin. Bare feet usually work best.

  • Our instructors are trained in proper spotting and progressions. We also use crash mats, aerial crash pads, and top-of-the-line rigging to minimise risk.

  • Absolutely. We welcome children, teens, and adults of all ages to explore the fun and fitness benefits of acro and aerial arts.
